Description
This is a mini sculpture from the Franklin Mint "Jewels of the Nile" collection. This piece is called "Royal Repose", and depicts an Egyptian woman in traditional attire lounging on a chaise with two cats, and her partner talking to her.
This piece was issued by the Franklin Mint. This mint was established in Middletown township, Wawa, Pennsylvania in 1964 by Jospeh Segel. A Philadelphia native, Segel was born and raised in West Philly. He went on the start over 20 American Companies, the most popular being QVC.
This mini sculpture was deigned by Alexander Scherbak. Scherbak is a sculpture and designer, but he is best know for being a wooden toymaker.
This piece is made of fine pewter and stands about 1.5" tall and 2" wide. It is in excellent used condition.
