Description
"The Effects of Nuclear Weapons" published by the United States Atomic Energy Commission in cooperation with the United States Department of Defense, June 1957 paperback.
The inside reads "This pamphlet is published for the information and guidance of all airfare personnel". Inside includes military photographs of atomic explosions, images of the affects the bomb had on people, burn photos of buildings etc., and graphs/photos/articles exploring the effects of radiation and the aftermath of the bomb. Some other articles include "Worldwide Fallout and Long Term Residual Radiation", "Technical Aspects of Underwater Explosions", and "Genetic Effects of Radiation".
This is a very informative piece of American History, and would make an incredible addition to any wartime collection. This book is in excellent vintage condition, with mild creasing on the spine, clean cover and interior, and flat pages. The only noticeable flaw is some light discoloration on the edges on the pages, consistent with age.
